We the People

We the people of the new United States of America must ban together now to
recreate our once perfect nation. Power, greed, money, and sloth have slowly
bled dry the Honor and Glory of this once proud country. Many people as of
late want to blame George W. Bush, because he stole his way into office.
Well that is the wrong part of our federal government to blame. The
President is an elected official that is constantly under public scrutiny.
No one company or person can corrupt the President without it coming under
close scrutiny. The problem is the United States Senate, corruption is
running rampant and the stench of shit is starting to reach the heavens. We
are all responsible for the state of Our nation, however I blame the 100 US
senators of the present and the past 75 years. Campaign contributions,
lobbyists, and illegal under the table payoffs for votes (if you think this
doesn't happen anymore you are dead wrong, look at tobacco!) are destroying
this country. Senators are supposed to vote on all bills according to the
will of the constituents, not by who gives them the most money for their
re-election campaign.
First I want to talk about the Big Tobacco companies. The Tobacco industry
killed more innocent American civilians last year than all of terrorist
attack in the last 10 years. Why is this? How is it that a company whose
product is know to cause terminal health conditions, is allowed to continue
development and distribution? Another interesting question is why is
marijuana, a substance not linked to any deaths and has medicinal properties
illegal. The answer is money. The tobacco companies spend millions if not
billions of dollars per year in campaign contributions, lobbyist fees,
illegal payoffs, and advertisements. The cost of killing over 400,000
Americans per year is a minimal donation to your local US senator
re-election campaign. You can watch a presidential election and hear speech
after speech about cracking down on tobacco companies, but the Philip Morris
Banner will be hanging outside of the building. If Democrats and Republicans
were really concerned with tobacco they don't show it much when they take
the blood money anyway. Tobacco companies will be allowed to kill American
civilians as long as they can afford to pay off the United States of
America's Senate. Money, Money, Money what price do you want your government
to sell your life for? Think about it.
Next is television. The great and almighty god of the New World, TV! TV is
the reason that these senators have been allowed to get away with all of
this. While we are busy watching the new fall line-up and putting together a
list of all those great time saving inventions you see on infomercials, the
senators are busy selling our souls' for us. TV has made many generations
believe that having money, a nice car, a good job, a college degree, a house
with white picket fences and some kids will bring them happiness. Well it
doesn't. Loving yourself brings happiness. Buy, buy, buy the American motto,
make your money so you can become happy spending it. We as a mass society
believe because we watch Dan Rather that we are more informed about life
here in America and abroad, however this is not true. We take everything for
granted, ice, electricity, television, running water, air conditioners,
heaters, cars, supermarkets, shoes, medical care, restaurants, telephones,
and the internet just to name a few. We could live in a world were you would
have to grow all of your own food, make all of your own clothes, get your
own water, and build your own shelter. We live like gods compared to the
rest of the world, and look were it got us. It is the United States that is
leading the race to destroy the world, and why is that, because we all waste
too much. We throw away food like it was going out of style, we consume raw
materials at such a rate that only strip mining and clear cutting can keep
the supply even with the demand. Yet we are the ones that think we are
helping when we send troops over seas, well all we are doing is ensuring our
ability to consume other countries natural resources.
What can I do to change this corruption and sloth you are probably asking,
well the answer is simple. The same thing you've been doing, only smarter.
We have elections for a reason. To vote out those in office not doing the
will of the people. Can it really be that simple? Yes, politicians can not
take campaign contributions, illegal pay-offs if they are voted out of
office. If you really want to change the world and the country, you will
never do it by holding a peace rally. The end result of an American peace
rally is that when it is all said and done everyone packs up and goes home
to their house and turns on the TV to see if they made the news. The problem
with this is the next day the streets are empty again and the hatred
continues. We need to get the politicians who value money over this
countries well being out of office. How do we do that, we learn what our US
Senators are voting for, where their campaign money comes from and by going
to the polls to vote, we must make them accountable for their actions. If
the elected official serve the will of the people leave them in office. If
they serve their money then get them the hell out of office. Elected
officials need to be expected to server their constituents, and we as the
populous of these elected officials should hold them to their word, and if
they don't we should vote them out of office. We are the keepers of this
country's congress, and we have been doing a terrible job as of late. We
have kept immoral and unpatriotic people in the US senate. The fastest way
to get senators away from their money is not allow them to take any campaign
contributions. Let those who desire to make this country a country worth
representing, run with their own money and not take money from the tobacco
companies and other American killer companies. Running for office does not
entitle you to millions of dollars, it gives you the proud privilege of
representing you country. We should not let our politicians forget that.
What I want is for us the non-elected member of this great country to make
educated decisions before you vote, and don't vote democrat and republican.
We as a country need to leave these two corrupt political parties in the
past and create a new future. With democrats and republicans the cycle of
corruption and greed is unbreakable, other than voting these evils out of
office. I urge you all to closely examine the record of your US senator, and
demand to see a break down of where their campaign money comes from. Only by
eliminating corruption and greed in our own country can we help eliminate
corruption and greed in other countries. Remember a "Government by the
People, for the People" not by the rich, greedy, and evil. Buy American and
by local to your own city if possible. The best thing for our economy is not
for all of us to run to Wal-Mart or some other multi, billion dollar
company, support your neighbors and friends. Together we can make America
proud instead of waiting for the government to destroy it.
