The Traps of Bliss
Many people, especially people in
the U.S., like to think of themselves as individuals. However we are
not so individual. There are a limited number of ways that we can
interpret our environment through the filter of fear. Fear is a very
limiting and debilitative disease. Like cancer, the ego has a certain
specific form that lets it exist in its physical world. (For example,
water must be made up of 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen, or it is not
water.) The Enneagram is an important and
useful tool in helping a seeker of freedom see how fear imprisons them.
It is ancient and it is impressive and it will help you see the pattern of
your disease. It takes a great deal of honesty to be able to use the Enneagram
effectively. It is painful at times, but the pain will only
yield purity, bliss, and freedom.
A WORD OF
CAUTION: When taking on a teacher be wary of those whom charge
large amounts for their services. Sure, we live in a capitalistic
society, but what you might notice is that many of the teachers and students
of the Enneagram are extremely wealthy is the US. A partial reason
for this is that the wealthy have the time to seek bliss more diligently
while still affording the comforts of the physical world. You may
notice that these types of students and teachers have many contradictions
and that as you progress in your unveiling of the self/Atman/Oberman, that
you will notice places in their egos where they are greatly hung up because
they are Trapped by Bliss. They enter into the comfort zone that many
spiritualists or religious people often enter into. It is important to
not fall into this trap. It is important to know it exists. Go
into the teaching environment clear minded and non-judgmental and you shall
gain much. The greatest use of having a teacher is that it is easier
for someone else to see a problem with you than it is for you to see a
problem with you. Unfortunately for the teacher, it is harder for them
to see what is wrong with themselves and not one tells them because they
have assumed the role of a teacher.
In deconstructing the ego, a common
exercise to ask yourself, "What am I not willing to give up?" and "How do I
sell myself out for love?" Don't ever stop that. Ask yourself,
"What am I without bliss?" Let that go to.
Use the Enneagram and its teachers
for what you can, but to not get sucked in to the trap of belonging.
Just as you must use LibertyCore, use other tools. Do not let them own
you, or blind you. And never, never become self-righteous about what
you are using.
Adore it, but don't worship it.
